Early in the conference, Stefano Foresti, a scientist at the U. Utah Center for High Performance Computing, noted the lack of an electronic forum for the Information Visualization community. I spoke with Stefano about this and helped coordinate some discussion with Nahum Gershon, Ben Shneiderman, and other conference organizers. We are continuing our efforts after the conference. Stefano has obtained the ‘infovis.org’ domain and has set up a web site ( http://www.infovis.org/). There will also be a moderated e-mail list. (Subscribe by sending email to to mailto:majordomo@chpc.utah.edu, message body "subscribe infovis-digest"). Nahum is obtaining the e-mail addresses of conference attendees. We plan to send an announcement to these people, inviting them to join the discussion list. Ben has prepared some initial statements to start the list discussions
