The first paper presented was on a system called “Web Path”. It described a system for a 3D visualization of the history of web browsing sessions. The visuals seemed a bit confusing and it was not clear that a visual history mapped into 3 space would be useful. The graphics gave little semantic information. This paper followed the keynote with its discussion of the Data Mountain which looked like a far superior browser visualization tool. I mention it here for the comparison.
